On the main concourse in Dukinfield Cemetery, close to the central 'roundabout'.

Description:

A Gaelic cross standing on a squat plinth, roughly 3ft tall.It was unveiled in October, 1920.

On the front is the inscription:

Sweet Jesus have mercy on the souls of men of St. Mary's, Dukinfield, who made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War, 1914 - 1918.

Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

The blood of heroes is the seed of freedom.
