The webcam is regularly updated every 5 minutes showing the stalls of Ashton Market.

Work has now been completed on the restoration of our historic Market Hall which was gutted by fire in May 2004. The Market Hall reopened on Friday, 28th November 2008.

The image below shows the picture of the artist's impression of the finished building, which has encompassed many of the ideas raised by members of the public and by market traders during the consultation process.

The completed Hall features a new basement area for the location of essential plant, including water storage facilities for the sprinkler system and waste management arrangements and also includes the creation of a mezzanine level.

The developments maximise the retail space at ground floor level enabling a traditional style market hall layout to be accommodated within the newly restored building, which is created within the original perimeter walls, which have been saved.
