Workplace Health Improvement Project
Workplace Health Improvement Project
Want to cut staff sickness costs? Want to feel healthier? Want more productive staff?
The Workplace Health Improvement Project is a new scheme for all small to medium sized businesses in Ashton St. Peter’s ward.
The project can work with local businesses in a number of ways. Small businesses often lack the time and money to support staff with making healthier changes to their lifestyle; this can lead to increased employee sickness which often means businesses are less profitable.
What’s in it for me?
The project can help your staff to improve their health and safety at work. We are offering businesses who take part in the project a free Health and Safety course place with Tameside Council.
There are a number of free health improvement services we can offer you and your staff. The Ashton Healthy Living Community Project has local Stop Smoking Services, lifestyle courses and Connect 4 Life (for workers between the age of 40 – 64 with a risk of developing a long-term health condition). Other services include advice and referrals on sexual health issues, alcohol and drug related conditions and advice on mental wellbeing and physical activity.
We are also able to offer advice on health and safety in your workplace on issues such as working from heights, slips and trips, workplace stress and dermatitis.
How does it work?
The Workplace Health Improvement Co-ordinator, can come to your business to discuss the needs of the company and can meet staff individually for a confidential consultation on their health and to provide free advice and routes into services they might require.
