Christmas Arrangements 2009/2010

Emergency Out of Hours service

We will run this service as usual throughout the Christmas period. It is for emergency calls only - please telephone 0161 342 2222 or minicom 0161 342 3009.

Council Offices and General Call Centre

We will close the Council offices and the call centre over the festive period from 4.30pm on Thursday 24th December 2009 and re-open on Monday 4th January 2010 at 8.30am.

Customer Services

Customer Service Centres that are open on Thursday 24th December 2009 will close at the normal closing hours for each office and re-open on Monday 4th January 2010 at the normal opening hours for each office.

Adults Social Care

Adults Social Care will be working as usual to Thursday, 24th December 2009 when the office will close at 4.30pm. On 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th December 2009 it will be an emergency service only, then from 8.30am on Tuesday 29th December 2009 usual services will resume. This will continue until Thursday, 31st December 2009, when the office will close at 4.30pm, re-opening on Monday, 4th January 2010 between 8.30am - 5.00pm. The 24 hour services will operate as usual.

Children's Social Care (including Social Work Teams, Family Support Teams and Conference and Review Section)

Children's Social Care will be working as usual (8.30am-5.00pm) to Thursday 24th December 2009 when the office will close at 4.30pm. On 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th December 2009 emergency service only, then from Tuesday 29th December 2009 usual services (8.30am-5.00pm) will resume. This will continue until Thursday 31st December 2009, when the office will close at 4.30pm, re-opening on Monday, 4th January 2010 between 8.30am-5.00pm. The 24 hour services, including children's homes and Out of Hours Team will operate as usual.

The Youth Offending Team offices at Clarence Arcade, Ashton 

The Youth Offending Team offices will be open normal office hours Thursday 24th December 2009, and close on the 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th December 2009, reopening on Tuesday 29th December 2009 between 8.30-5.00 (client appointments between 10.00am and 2.00pm). These hours will continue until the office closes on Thursday 31st December 2009, and the office will then remain closed until Monday 4th January 2010, opening between 8.30am-5.00pm (client appointments between 10.00am-2.00pm).

Community Response Warden Service

The Community Response Warden Service will be operating as normal. The free phone number (0800 328 9292) is also operational throughout the Christmas and New Year period.

The community response office will be open at normal operating hours, apart from the 25th, 28th December 2009 (Christmas Day and the Monday Bank Holiday), and the 1st January 2010 (New Years Day).
