Tameside Christmas Lights Switch On Dates 2011

Are the dark nights getting you down? Don’t worry. Before you know it the November gloom will have been dispelled by some festive magic.

From the middle of November, Tameside Council will be starting its programme of Christmas lights switch-ons. And, as usual, those taking place in Ashton, Hyde and Stalybridge will be extra special.

Cllr Jackie Lane, Assistant Executive Member for Heritage and Tourism, said: “These are family events that will be enjoyed by kids of all ages, and adults too. Once the lights go on they make the dark nights much more bearable and the children know that it won’t be long until Christmas is here.”
