The Aims and Objectives of the Resource Centre
- To use a multi-agency approach to provide a variety of learning experiences for young people.
- To provide opportunities to enable young people to experience programmes that look at their offending.
- To assess the social and educational needs of young people and to provide relevant and appropriate programmes to meet those needs.
- To provide opportunities for young people to work in a variety of ways which will enable them to work co-operatively with other young people and adults.
- To work in a structured environment which assists personal, social and educational development of young people.
- To provide a service that promotes the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy which is free from discrimination ie race, sex, disability, religion.
The ground rules of the resource centre
- Written information on individual young people will be shared with them (if they wish) and with their supervisors.
- The focus is on learning and gaining experiences.
- All those attending the Resource Centre must show respect for each other.
- No racist, sexist or offensive language will be tolerated.
- In discussions, all views should be respected, even if they are disagreed with.
- No inappropriate behaviour will be tolerated ie violence, aggression or attendance whilst considered to be under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
Attendance at the Resource Centre is by referral only
Wednesdays between 2.30pm and 6.00pm - Staff from Education, Careers, Employment, Restorative Justice and Health Services are available for parents.
