Grant Schemes
Grant schemes are open for application by businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19. Answering the questions below will help you to see which grants your business may be eligible for:
Please note: where
(Closed) is used, this refers to the business being closed, due to tier or national restrictions, rather than the grant itself being closed. All grants mentioned below are currently open for applications.
Has your business been forced to close as part of the government’s COVID-19 Tier or National restrictions, and is the commercial premises it trades from on the business rating list?
If the answer to this question is yes, you may be eligible for the
Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed), (Closed) Addendum or Sector funds. Full eligibility and the application process can be found here
https://www.tameside.gov.uk/coronavirus/businessratesrecovery
Is your business in the hospitality, accommodation or leisure sectors?
If it is, as well as the (Closed) grant for Lockdown, you may also be eligible for a
Local Restrictions Support Grant (Open) if your business has a fixed commercial property in Tameside. Full eligibility and the application process can be found here
https://www.tameside.gov.uk/coronavirus/businessgrants
If you are unable to answer ‘Yes’ to either of the above questions you may be eligible for the Additional Restrictions Grant.
The
Additional Restrictions Grant is open to applications from businesses that have a fixed commercial property in Tameside, are severely impacted by COVID-19 and were ineligible for LRSG (Closed); (Closed) Addendum or (Sector) grants. Full eligibility and the application process can be found here

On 5 January, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced a £4.6 billion fund for a round of grants to support businesses through the lockdown. This extra funding was distributed to local authorities to use for new grants to support businesses who have been forced to close due to restrictions imposed by the latest national lockdown, and to top up each area's Additional Restrictions Grant fund pots, to allow further support for businesses who have not been forced to close, but who have been affected by COVID-19.
If you have already been successful in applying for grants, you will automatically receive the extra payments from these schemes, you do not have to re-apply.
Tameside Employment Fund
We will ensure Tameside Employment Fund grants are efficiently paid to make sure businesses which have taken on staff through the scheme are supported.
