11 to 15 years old
11 to 15
At this age your teen will be reading longer books in school. You could ask them to tell you what the book is about and re-tell it to you.
Your teen may enjoy lots of different types of books based on their interests, e.g. fantasy, books set in different parts of history, non-fiction such as autobiographies.
Many teenagers like playing games on their tablets or ipads. As well as this you can encourage them to use the tablet for reading, e.g. reading the news, games manuals, downloaded books.
Audiobooks are a nice way to get your teen to listen to stories and help develop their language and thinking skills.
