Exercise
Exercise – Move, Play, and Stay Healthy!
Exercise is super important for keeping your body strong, happy, and full of energy! Whether you're running, playing football, dancing, or even just walking, moving your body helps you feel great.
1. Why Is Exercise Good for You?
Exercise helps in so many ways! It:
- Makes your muscles and bones strong.
- Helps your heart stay healthy.
- Gives you more energy and makes you feel happy.
- Improves sleep so you feel rested.
- Helps you focus better at school.
2. Fun Ways to Exercise
You don’t need to go to the gym to stay active—exercise can be fun! Try things like:
- Playing football, basketball, or any sport you love.
- Dancing to your favorite songs.
- Riding your bike or scooter.
- Skipping, jumping, or running around outside.
- Swimming, climbing, or doing gymnastics.
- Even walking to school counts as exercise!
3. How Much Exercise Do You Need?
Kids and young people should try to get **at least 1 hour of exercise every day**. But you don’t have to do it all at once—short bursts of activity throughout the day work too!
4. Exercise and Feeling Good
Moving your body doesn’t just help you stay fit—it also makes you feel good! Exercise helps your brain release “happy chemicals” that make you feel less stressed and more cheerful.
5. Stay Safe When Exercising
When doing sports or activities, remember to:
- Warm up before and cool down after.
- Drink water to stay hydrated.
- Wear the right shoes or safety gear.
- Take breaks so you don’t get too tired.
6. Keep Moving and Have Fun!
Exercise isn’t just about staying healthy—it’s about having fun! Find activities you love and make moving part of your daily routine. Whether you're playing a sport, dancing, or just going for a walk, every bit of movement helps!
