Tameside Adult and Community Education

Information, Advice and Guidance - Statement of Service

What is Tameside ACE and what do we do?

We are Tameside Council’s adult and community education provision, providing courses for adults, 19 and over, including adults with learning difficulties. Courses are free for most of our learners.

Our aim is to help people in and around Tameside by building their skills and confidence to gain employment and increase health and well-being.

We offer:
  • Information, advice and guidance to match your needs to available courses
  • Signposting and referrals to other services and providers, including the National Careers Service and job clubs
  • Support and guidance during your learning, including regular updates on your progress
  • Information on funds available to help with the cost of travel, fees and childcare

What can you expect from us?

Our highly experienced and professional staff will treat you with respect and help you wherever possible. We recognise the importance of treating everyone fairly and have an equal opportunities policy in place to ensure that this happens.

We work to national quality and awarding body standards so you can be sure the courses you are studying are fit for purpose and maintained at a high level of excellence.

Any information you give us will be treated in line with the Data Protection Act 1998, with discretion and confidentiality.

How can you help us improve the service?

Feedback questionnaires will be provided on your course, but you can also tell us about your experiences by speaking to a member of staff, contacting the Quality Manager or if you would prefer messaging us, you can contact us online at www.tameside.gov.uk/complaints.
