Adult Autism Assessment Service
Tameside and Glossop Adult Autism Assessment Service offers a specialist assessment service for autism in adults over 18 years of age, who are registered with a GP in Tameside or Glossop.
The service welcomes self-referrals, please visit their page for information on what to expect from an assessment, patient stories, how to make a referral and much more.
Post-diagnosis packs are also provided by this service.
Right to Choose
The Tameside and Glossop Adult Autism Assessment and ADHD Services receive lots of referrals from GP’s, professionals and directly from people in our communities. This means people may experience a longer waiting time for assessments.
It’s important to know about your ‘Right to Choose’ which means people referred for an assessment for a neurodevelopmental condition (including Autism and ADHD) have a legal right to choose who provides this service.
You can’t self-refer and so you will need to ask your GP to refer you to an alternative provider under Right to Choose. The service will be provided to you free of charge as an NHS patient.
