Ordering documents in advance

Tameside Local Studies and Archives Centre is closed to the public until further notice. In a time of national effort, it is important that we play our part: by protecting what is valuable, maintaining what is essential and by working flexibly to carry out our duties in new ways.

All scheduled events have been cancelled until at least the end of May. This is in response to the latest government advice to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
We will be working behind the scenes to ensure our archives, records and our site are both secure and safe for the duration of our closure.

Whilst we are closed there are still lots of information about our local heritage which you can explore. You can search our image archive for instance and contact us for any other enquires via our website www.tameside.gov.uk/archives We will also be updating on social media what we are working on, you can follow us on twitter @tmbc_culture and on our blog https://tamesidesop.wordpress.com/ We are also temporarily able to offer remote access to our Ancestry and FindMyPast subscriptions, for more information on how to access these please see the following link: https://www.tameside.gov.uk/libraries/onlineservices

We want to take this opportunity at this unprecedented time to thank you for your support and loyalty to Tameside Local Studies and Archives Centre as we maintain and preserve the public records for generations to come.
