Tameside Bereavement Services

Quality Policy

The Division delivers services in line with recognised National and International Standards, Codes of Practice and Council Policy.

Experienced staff are available to ensure that a high level of service is maintained and customers requirements are met. The reputation for Quality built up by this Division over the years is a fundamental constituent of its policy and is to be safeguarded by every possible means. Every member of the management team regards Quality Assurance as a major responsibility and is determined to see that the best practical methods are adopted.

In doing so the Division is committed to a policy of Quality Assurance to ensure that our services meet the Quality requirements, and at the same time the performance requirements of our customer contracts.

It is key in the objectives of the Division that the Quality Management System provides: -

  • Confidence to our Customers that their requirements for quality and safety are being achieved in the delivered service
  • Confidence of our management & staff that the requirements for quality are being fulfilled & maintained, & that quality improvements take place.
  • A framework for establishing and reviewing quality objectives, therefore performance targets are set, agreed and monitored in all departments on a regular basis.

Objective evidence of this fact is provided through the establishment and maintenance of a Quality Assurance System that complies with the requirements specified in BS EN ISO 9001: 2000

The ethos for organisational change in Tameside is Continual Improvement and the requirements for Best Value. The Quality Management System will help to establish the processes, lock-in and monitor improvements made and bring the rigour needed to demonstrate the achievement of stated objectives. In addition, demonstrated two-way links between Business Planning and the management requirements inherent in ISO 9001 have been firmly established.

The Senior Management of the Division ensure that the staff of the Division are made aware of the Quality Policy and that adequate training resources are given to them in respect of the Quality requirement.

All members of staff have been made aware that the Division's Quality Policy cannot succeed unless willing co-operation is provided by everyone in the execution of their duties.

Management expects that any hindrances, whether mechanical or human, to the achievement of consistent first grade Quality will be brought to light.

This applies at all levels without exception.
