Additional Restrictions Grant Fund (for domestic & commercial based businesses and Tameside Taxi licence holders)

 ADDITIONAL funding has been made available by the government to support businesses impacted by the Omicron COVID-19 variant and the associated Plan-B measures.  Tameside is receiving a £268,000 share of a national £102m fund for the re-opening of the Additional Restrictions Grant Fund (ARG).

This is a limited fund open to businesses not on the business ratings list and severely impacted by Omicron on a first come, first served basis.  This includes domestic-based businesses and Tameside taxi licence holders.  The full guidance is published here Guidance for applications to Tameside Council for Additional Restrictions Grant Fund

Eligible businesses will be able to access a one off grant payment dependent on the number of employees based within the Tameside premises of their business.  The grant is available only once to each eligible business and is not available per premises.

10 – 49 employees £1.500
50 – 249 employees £2,000
250 or more employees £2,500
 

Businesses on the business ratings list are not eligible for support through the Additional Restrictions Grant fund and should consider the support available through the Omicron Hospitality & Leisure Fund and/or Covid Additional Relief Fund which can be accessed here: Coronavirus Business Rates Recovery (tameside.gov.uk)
 
Businesses that fit all the criteria below may be eligible:
  • Tameside businesses trading from domestic or commercial premises OR Tameside taxi licence holder (private hire and / or hackney carriage driver licence)
  • Trading on 20 December 2021 and continuing to trade at point of application
  • Severely impacted by the Omicron COVID-19 variant


Evidence needed to support your application


Any document provided must be dated within, or be applicable to, the period December 2021:
 
  • All applicants are required to upload a bank statement demonstrating trading for the period including 20 December 2021
  • For businesses trading from a domestic setting: evidence of fixed business costs, separate to domestic/residential costs; such as insurance, legal and accountancy fees, trading licences, utilities, equipment rental, software licenses and commercial vehicle costs.  Fixed costs do not include stock, domestic property or employee costs. 
  • Tameside taxi licence holders must provide their current licence reference number and declaration they have not received a grant from another Local Authority.
  • For businesses trading from commercial premises:
    • Lease, rental or business mortgage agreement to evidence Fixed Property Costs (rent)
    • Confirmation of the number of employees based within Tameside premises of the business e.g. monthly employee payment summary
  • All applicants are asked to upload a copy of their passport or driving licence as proof of identity.
 
You can upload scanned copies or pictures of your supporting documents. Attachment size must not exceed 15Mb per attachment.
 
The scheme will operate on a first come, first served basis until all the funding available is fully allocated or the closing date of 28 February 2022 is reached. Tameside Council has full discretion over this grant scheme. The Council’s decisions regarding the scheme are final. There is no appeal process for this grant scheme.
