Participation at District Assemblies

I have an excellent attendance record for attending District Assemblies. I have over the last year supported development of Ashton-Under-Lyne and continued to support both local traders and shoppers.

Participation on Outside Bodies and Partnerships

I have supported a number of residents associations across the Hurst ward including Broadoak and Smallshaw, Hazelhurst and Hartshead estate. I believe it is essential, especially during Austerity to empower local residents in looking after their neighbors and their neighborhoods.

Constituency Work

I have been able to assist a number of constituents across Ashton Hurst with their problems including preventing families from being evicted, dealing with fly-tipping, road repairs, pruning of trees and ensuring that bins are collected.

Members Advice Surgeries

I hold regular surgeries both fixed and roaming within the Hurst ward to support residents and deal with their problems.

Training and Development

I regularly attend training and development sessions provided by the council to expand my knowledge and experience as a Councillor to support local residents in solving their problems constructively.

Achievements During the Year

I am proud to have been able to get a positive result on the Red House site on Hartshead estate. Three years worth of campaigning from myself and the residents of Hartshead estate has finally paid off.

I have spent hours clearing areas of Hurst with volunteers on litter picks end encouraged community empowerment.

I have fought for Hurst to get a fair share of the council budget which includes road resurfacing, road markings and road lamps being repaired.
