Strengthening Communities Digital Inclusion Fund
We are thrilled to announce that all grants from the Strengthening Communities Digital Inclusion Fund have been awarded to various Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprises (VCFSEs). These grants will support a range of innovative projects aimed at enhancing digital inclusion across Tameside.
The funded projects will focus on:
- Providing Access to Technology: Ensuring that individuals and communities have the necessary devices and internet access to participate fully in the digital world.
- Digital Skills Training: Offering training sessions to help people develop essential digital skills, from basic computer use to more advanced digital literacy.
- Support and Guidance: Providing ongoing support to help individuals navigate the digital landscape, including assistance with online services and digital safety.
These initiatives are designed to bridge the digital divide, empowering residents to connect, learn, and thrive in an increasingly digital society. We are proud to support the VCFSE sector in delivering these vital services and look forward to seeing the positive impact on our community.
Additionally, the Strengthening Communities Digital Inclusion Fund is helping to enable the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA)'s vision of ensuring all residents within Greater Manchester are no further than 1km or 15 minutes from a digital hub or service. These hubs will provide opportunities for residents to get online, acquire digital skills, receive devices, and access data or WiFi.
