Use the time off during the holiday period to spend time talking with your teen. Talk to your teen about their interests, school and what they have done throughout the year. 

If your teen has younger siblings they could try make a map around the world of where Father Christmas will go, who he will see, what it will be like there.
 
Get your teen to help you with the planning of Christmas menu. You could get them to help you think of what foods people might want and the timings when cooking the Christmas dinner
