Food banks, pantries, and community grocery

Tameside has a wide range of support for people experiencing food poverty or may need support with food in some way. The document below provides a list of food banks, pantries, community grocery, food projects and community cafés. The Tameside Food Partnership recognises that people may need information on what support is out there and many of these services offer more than just food, some may offer support around mental health and wellbeing, food parcels, financial advice and support, community ran groups to reduce social isolation and much more.

You may be able to get a food bank voucher through a referral agency such as Citizens Advice, your GP, social worker, housing provider, or Jobcentre Plus. They will assess your circumstances and issue a voucher if you are eligible.

If you live in Tameside and need emergency food support, you can apply for a Crisis Payment or contact us on 0161 342 2211 (Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm) for further assistance.
