Hattersley Pride in Place

Pride in Place
Pride in Place is a long‑term programme focused on giving local people a stronger voice in shaping the future of Hattersley.

It is about building on what already makes the area special, supporting local ambition and ensuring that decisions about investment and priorities are led by the community.

Over the coming years, Pride in Place will help bring people together to agree what matters most for Hattersley and how change should happen.

What is Pride in Place?

Pride in Place is a UK Government‑funded programme that will bring £20 million of investment to Hattersley over 10 years. It will also build on more than 20 years of successful regeneration in the area and focuses on putting local people at the heart of decision‑making.

Pride in Place is about:

  • Listening to local voices
  • Improving places people care about
  • Strengthening community pride and confidence
  • Supporting long‑term, locally‑led change

At the heart of Pride in Place programme will be a local Board, made up of residents and people with strong connections to Hattersley. The Board will help guide priorities, shape plans, and represent the community.

Getting involved: Chair and Board members

We are currently recruiting a voluntary Independent Chair for the Pride in Place Hattersley Board. The deadline for expressions of interest is Sunday 10 May.

We will be also looking for Board members who live, work, or have strong links to the area.

These roles will help make sure that Pride in Place:

  • Is community‑led
  • Reflects a wide range of local voices
  • Is fair, inclusive and transparent

You do not need previous board experience to be involved. What matters most is local knowledge, commitment and a desire to help Hattersley thrive.
