What are sundry debts and miscellaneous income?

The Council will send out other invoices in addition to Council Tax and/or Business Rates. These invoices may cover a service the Council has provided, or it could be a repayment to us of an amount that you were not entitled to. Some examples of services that the Council have to make a charge for;

  • Trade Waste Services
  • Planning Fees
  • Adult Services Accommodation Charges
  • Overpayment of Housing Benefit
  • Collection of Commercial Rents


How/where can I pay?

You may find it useful to pay periodic accounts such as Commercial Rents or Trade Waste by Direct Debit. Download an Application Form here.

It is also possible to pay your invoice online using our secure network.

I am having difficulty paying. Can I make an arrangement?

If you think you will have difficulty paying your invoice by the due date, please contact us to discuss an alternative payment plan.


Why have I received a reminder/notice of court proceedings?

If you fail to pay your invoice by the due date, or fail to keep to any arrangement you have made, we will take recovery action in the form of a reminder notice. Subsequent failure to pay the balance or bring your account up to date may result in court action to enforce payment of the debt.


I wish to dispute the Invoice I have received.

If you disagree with the invoice or it is not clear why it has been sent you, please complete the Dispute Invoice on-line form.


Can I request a copy invoice?

You can request a copy invoice by completing the Copy Invoice on-line form.


How do I claim a refund?

You can claim a refund by completing this Refund on-line form.


I am having difficulty paying. Can I make an arrangement and request a payment card?
