Funding Information


Tameside Libraries Information Service hold a variety of resources containing information about funding and grants. From individual grants to writing fundraising applications, we hold information that can help you. This page is a guide to the funding resources available at TLIS.
 

GrantfinderGrant finder

Grantfinder is a tool capable of searching 4,000 grants, loans and awards available for application. Search by location, funding type and sector to find relevant sources of funding.
 
Features information on over 8,000 funding schemes including grants, loans and awards from local, regional and national UK government, European funding, charitable trusts and corporate sponsors.
 
Content ranges from modest community funds at one end of the spectrum to major, multi-level European initiatives at the other.
 
Advice including articles on topical funding issues and information on fund details including background, funding levels, eligibility criteria, previous successful projects, who to contact and links to application forms.

  • The Directory of Grant-Making Trusts - A comprehensive reference book covering the largest 2,500 trusts and foundations in the UK which give grants to organisations.
  • The Educational Grants Directory - A guide to local and national charities that support children and students in need. Subjects covered range from grants for fees to help with the cost of studying abroad.
  • The Grants Register - An annual publication containing comprehensive information on funding for postgraduate and professional study world-wide. Over 35,000 awards in 80 countries are listed.
  • The Arts Funding Guide - Provides information for those seeking funding in the Arts.
  • A Guide to the Major Trusts - A guide to the 300 largest grant-making trusts. Contains annual reports and guidelines for applicants where relevant.
  • A Guide to Funding from Government Departments and Agencies - Contains guidance on how to apply for funding from government departments and many other related agencies.

The National Lottery Community Fund Link to External Website – Awards lottery money to community groups and projects that improve health, education and the environment. 

Debt Advice – The service is based within the Council’s Welfare Rights Service and offers free, independent, confidential advice, support and assistance with debt problems.

Educational Grants Advisory Service Link to External Website – This service also offers students, especially disadvantaged ones, guidance and advice to enable them to secure funding for education and training.

Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) Link to External Website – The HLF sustains and transforms a wide range of heritage through innovative investment in projects that have a lasting impact on people and places. The HLF funds heritage projects of all sizes, with grants ranging from £3,000 to over £5million.

The Prince's Trust Link to External Website – A youth charity that helps change young lives.

Turn2us Link to External Website – A charitable service which helps people access money available to them – through welfare benefits, grants and other help.
