Join the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge: Read to the Beat.

This exciting new theme will celebrate the joy of music and the power it has to move, inspire and connect us – all through the magic of reading.

Children can sign up to take part in ReadtotheBeat at Tameside libraries this summer holidays. It’s fun, friendly and absolutely free! All you have to do is read 6 library books and collect rewards along the way.

The challenge launches on Saturday 4 July and runs until Christmas whilst stocks last, so there is plenty of time to get on with that reading!

*If you usually only use the library during Open+ hours and want to take part, please send us a message using the link below, including the name and library card number of children wanting to take part and the library you go to.
