Library Book Shelving volunteer

Want to help your local library run smoothly? Interested in books?

Library Book Shelving volunteers assist library staff in shelving of newly returned books, sorting out book stock, finding books from lists, tidying shelves and making displays.

Time for Rhyme Support volunteer

Like working with children and families? Have a child of your own attending Time for a Rhyme and want to support the sessions?

Time for a Rhyme Support volunteers assist library staff in setting up and packing away after the Time for a Rhyme session and interact with children and parents during the session. Time for a Rhyme sessions are song and rhyme sessions aimed at children aged 0-4 years old and their parents and carers.

Library Event Support Volunteers assist library staff in the delivery of events aimed at the public, including preparing materials, setting up refreshments, greeting members of the public, tidying up after events.

Are you organized and detail-oriented? Become a listing volunteer and help us preserve local history!

In this role, you’ll work with historic copies of the Reporter newspaper, carefully listing images to ensure they’re properly archived and accessible for future research. Your meticulous work will play a key part in helping the public access our past.
