Parent Carer Forum and Parent Carer Voice

Parent Carer Forum

Over the last few months Our Kids Eyes have been working with Tameside Council and Contact to look at how we can re-energise Tameside’s Parent/Carer Forum. A parent carer forum brings together parents and carers of children and young people with disabilities and/or special educational needs to support each other, share information and influence local policy, service design and delivery - This means making sure decisions made locally meet the needs of our children and young people. A parent carer forum does this by listening to families, sharing their stories and working with education, health and social care to make positive changes. To support this activity Tameside through OKE can apply for a department for education grant, this year (2021-2022) that grant is £17500.

If you would like to be involved let us know by messaging us on here or by emailing us at oketameside@gmail.com
