Motability Scheme
The Motability Scheme enables anyone in receipt of a higher rate mobility allowance (such as the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment or the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance) to use their mobility allowance to lease a car, scooter, powered wheelchair or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle. The Scheme provides access to a brand new, reliable vehicle of your choice.
How the Scheme works
You exchange all, or part of your mobility allowance to lease the vehicle of your choice. You choose the vehicle you want at a price that works for you , and payments are deducted from your higher rate mobility allowance every four weeks, then paid directly to us by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
