Our Outcomes Framework

The vision of all partners and services in Tameside, is for every one of the children and young people in the Borough to be safe, healthy, happy, ambitious for their future, and to develop skills for life.

This is a vision for all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). We want them all to have the opportunity to be the best they can be, to be happy, and to have choice and control over their support. We are ambitious for every child and young person with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities.

We have worked together with parents, carers, young people and workforce across the local area to co-produce a set of Outcomes that we all want to achieve for our SEND children and young people.

In 2020 we asked our families to tell us how they thought we were doing and where we weren’t doing so well, tell us what they’d like to see us get better at https://www.tameside.gov.uk/localoffer/yousaidwedid

We then used the voice of our families from this survey and worked with our workforce to develop a draft set of Outcomes.  Once we had the proposed indicators we surveyed our families to ask them their views on them.  We changed one of the outcomes and added an additional one based on our families feedback.

Importantly they told us that:-
  • The outcomes are ambitious enough and reflect what matters to them.
  • The outcomes capture the things families would be happy to talk about when engaging with professionals or in surveys.
