Photograph of ExhibitionWho do we think we are? The Manchester Regiment Archives

Everyone has a history and we’ve got a bit of yours!

The Museum of the Manchester Regiment has mounted a temporary exhibition to run from 3 January to 28 June 2007 as part of the ongoing national Archive Awareness Campaign. This exhibition, held at Ashton-under-Lyne Town Hall aims to encourage both existing users and new and different users to use and appreciate archives.

Tameside Local Studies and Archives Centre, Old Street, Ashton-under-Lyne holds the Manchester Regiment Archives. The Archive collection contains photographs, documents, diaries and much more which can help Tameside people trace the activities of family members who served with the Manchester Regiment, through its 200-year history.

Archive Awareness Campaign is an ongoing campaign, which aims to unlock the potential of archives, and encourages existing, new and different users to experience all that archives have to offer. For more information on the campaign please go to The National Archives Archive Awareness Campaign page Link to External Website.
