Robert Nuttall Roberts


 

Early Life

Robert was born in Manchester and was the son of the late Robert and Rachel Roberts.

Service Life

Private Robert Nuttall Roberts (25902) enlisted in Manchester and served with the 22nd Battalion of the Manchester Regiment.

For his service in the army, Robert was awarded the Allied Victory Medal and British War Medal. Robert’s medals can be seen in the Museum of the Manchester Regiment.

We Shall Remember Him

Robert was 34 years old when he was killed in action on 28 March 1917. He is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France (Grave/Memorial Reference – Bay 7).

His Next of Kin Memorial Plaque is on display in the Museum of the Manchester Regiment in the Forshaw Gallery.
