Love your dog walk this Valentine

Press Release: 11/02/2020

CUPID is directing his arrow at animal lovers this Valentine’s with a ‘Love Your Dog’ walk and health check for owners and their pets.

Animal charity PDSA and Tameside Council are teaming up to hold the event at Oxford Park, Pottinger Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne OL7 0PW at 10am on Wednesday 12 February. The Dogs School, part of the Dogs Trust, will also be on hand to deliver some useful training tips and advice for the dog owners.

People don’t need to have a dog to attend, it’s open to anyone who wants to get out for a walk, weather permitting, or to have a health check indoors, or speak to a member of the team about dog walking and the PDSA.

The event is one of many events being held in support of the Greater Manchester That Counts campaign, which is encouraging people to move more by doing at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day to help to improve their quality of life and improve their mental health and wellbeing.

This walk marks the start of a series of events throughout the year where people are encouraged to get out in the fresh air and move more.

The PDSA is the UK’s leading veterinary charity who strives to improve pets’ lives through prevention, education and treatment.  Since 17 November 1917 they have been saving pets and changing lives for 100 years.  The charity has helped more than 20 million pets, providing 100 million treatments – sharing advice, preventing disease and treating sick and injured pets.
