After the appeal hearing
We will write to you with the decision no later than five school days after the hearing.
In line with the School Admissions Appeals Code, we have to notify you in writing so are unable to tell you the result of your appeal over the phone.
The decision cannot be appealed and can only be overturned by a court of law.
You can complain about how the appeal was handled but not about the result.
If you feel that there has been maladministration on the part of the appeal panel or the council has not carried out its responsibilities as set out in the School Admissions Appeals Code, then you can contact the Local Government Ombudsman at www.lgo.org.uk (for Maintained Schools) or the Education and Skills Funding Agency at www.gov.uk (for Academies). However, they cannot review or overturn an appeal decision but may only consider whether the appeal was conducted according to the provisions of the School Admissions Appeals Code
