Tameside Registration Service


Register of Deaths

In addition to the statutory requirements governing the registration of deaths.

 

We will:

  • Arrange an appointment for you within the opening hours of the office and at your convenience
  • Observe the dignity and respect which the occasion demands
  • Complete your visit within 30 minutes
  • Issue all relevant documents at the time of registration
  • Provide, if necessary, a liaison between yourself and funeral directors, and, if required, yourself and the coroner's office
  • Provide comprehensive advice and information after the registration and for as long as necessary
  • Assist in the registration of a death where the event needs to be reported and registered with an office other than this one
 

You can help us by:

  • Arriving promptly for your appointment
  • Bringing with you the relevant documents we need to register the death
  • Knowing how many death certificates you will need
  • Letting us know of any ideas you may have to improve the service
