Welcome to Crèche

All about crèche

Here at Tameside Children's centre crèche, we provide the highest quality care and learning for children under the age of 5. We have 2 highly qualified practitioners with over 20 years experience of working with children under 5 years. These practitioners use In the Moment Planning throughout their
crèche sessions. This allows the whole session to be based around the child’s interests and needs, encouraging confidence building and self esteem.

This is a fantastic service is offered to all parents/carers attending one of our parenting courses.

How do you get a crèche place?

When a referral is made, there is an option to ask for crèche support. Once the parents/carers have been offered a place on a course, their details will be passed on to the crèche team. The practitioner will then contact the parents to discuss the crèche place. During this time, a crèche registration form will be complete ensuring the crèche practitioners have all the vital information needed for the child to begin their journey in crèche.

The first session we offer is our Welcome crèche. This is a time where the parent/carers and their child/ren can become familiar with the practitioners and the new environment.

What is the Importance of Crèche?

We believe that all children should have the best start in life. Here at crèche, we accept children from new-born to 5 years. We understand how important building relationships with the children is, and this is our main priority when children attend crèche. The practitioners nurture all children and ensure their care is tailored to their needs.

In crèche, we use In the Moment Planning. This is where we do not pre-plan any activities for our crèche sessions. Instead, we ensure we create a rich and stimulating environment for all children to explore. Throughout the session, we spend our time following the child’s personal interests. During their play, we intervene when there is a teachable moment to be made.

The whole session is lead by the children. The children decide when they are ready for their snack, whether to explore the indoor or outdoor area and what area of learning they wish to go.

Each week, we record each child’s journey in crèche through taking photos and adding them to their personal learning journal. At the end of the course, there will be a lovely book for parents/carers to take home and share with their family.
