National Citizen Service (NCS) programme
The National Citizen Service (NCS) programme is running for young people in Tameside across the summer months and there are still places available.
Run by the UK’s leading social integration charity, The Challenge, NCS aims to create a stronger and more cohesive society by bringing 15-17-year-olds together for a summer of adventure activities, making new friends, learning new skills, and contributing to their local community.
Across the four week programme, participants take part in various activities together such as rock-climbing and kayaking, learning to cook and how to budget, and volunteering in their communities. They’re also given support with public speaking and campaigning before pitching their ideas to a team of professional business people.
And at just £50 for the entire experience, including food, accommodation and activities, NCS offers an incredibly affordable way for teenagers to have an exciting and eye-opening experience this summer.
You can watch short videos on the programme here - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkQEBjT_b8ee1luAcQWhPBykdaGy38fuW
