Hope for Paediatric Epilepsy

Location: Droylsden, Tameside 

"Hope" offers support and friendship to parents/carers and siblings/children with epilepsy.   The Group meets on the third Tuesday of every month at Slide and Seek and also on the last Wednesday of every month at Rowan House, Hyde when you can speak to Carolyn Taylor, Epilepsy Specialist Nurse and other professionals.

Referral Method:  Drop-in

Facilities:  Accessible parking and disabled access

Age Range: 0-16 years and their parents

Cost:  Slide and Seek £1.50 per child

Our Kids Eyes

Location: Droylsden 

Our charity provides support, advice, information and lots of activities and events throughout the year for Tameside families who have children with special needs.

Our charity is run soley by Parent Volunteers and their aim is to make Tameside the best place to raise a child with Special Needs.  As a parent run charity we know first hand the impact having a child with special needs has on the whole family, especially siblings.

OKE has over 500 families registered with us and the children have a wide variety of special needs, such as ADHD, ASD, Downs Syndrome, visual and hearing impairments, learning disabilities and physical disabilities.

Parents can also receive confidential advice and support on a whole range of subjects.

Sunshine Group

Location: Dukinfield 

The group offers the opportunity for parents, grandparents and carers to meet up with other families for a coffee and a chat.   Parents and carers can attend with or without children.

During the session there are stay and play activities for children, allowing parents some time to sit back, relax and chat with other families.   Families who attend these groups will also have the opportunity to join and make use of Rowan House Toy Library located on Grange Road in Hyde, which has a range of typical and more specialist toys.

Open:   Thursdays 1.00pm until 3.00pm at Rowan House, Grange Road South, Hyde, SK14 5NY.  There is also a Sunshine Group which runs from Dukinfield Children's Centre on a Tuesday 1.00pm-3.00pm.

Sunshine Parent Group

Location: Hyde 

Sunshine Parents Group offers parents, grandparents and carers the chance to meet up for a coffee and a chat.Stay and Play activities are available at each session. These sessions offer families the chance to make new friends and share their experiences. Sessions are supported by T&G, PCT and also by the Early Years outreach support team (LEA)

Open: Tuesdays, 1pm-3pm and Thursdays at Dukinfield Children's Centre, 1pm-3pm

T21 Network

Location: Stalybridge 

A free voluntary service which provide information, advice and a friendly face to parents, families and friends of a person with down's syndrome. Raising awareness of down syndrome - amazing people, challenging lives.

Tameside Action for Social Communication and Autism

Location: Droylsden 

TASCA is a support group for families with children with autism and social communication difficulties living within the Tameside and Glossop area.   It has a wide range or resources, should that be just a leaflet, a book, or the help of a professional from either the Health Service or from Tameside Council should you need it.
TASCA also provides the opportunity for children and their siblings to partake in leisure activities and day trips during the school holidays, specifically organised just for them and their families.

Baby Sensory Tameside

Location: Ashton-Under-Lyne 

Baby sensory is a complete baby development programme with different activities and experiences every week.   Your child will experience fibre optic light shows to glowing bouncy balls, bubbles, bells, rainbows, tickly feathers, puppets, silky scarves baby signing and massage.   The possibilities for learning are endless.

Special events and birthday parties are also available.

FACT - Families of Autistic Children Together

Location: Tameside 
Fact Saturday club is offering a service to parents for children diagnosed with ASD and communication difficulties, the play session is to give families some respite and for the children to meet other children in a safe and relaxed environment, supported by staff that are qualified and have experience working and supporting children with additional needs, these play sessions are run on a rota service as we provide a one to one service for each child.
 
The session is 10am to 1pm and costs £3 a head, this includes a snack and juice, if any families are interested in this play session they will need to contact Debbie Mcgeoch (our Team Manager)  or Tracy Whittle (Trustee and Founder of Fact.)

We also have an evening play session which is held at ‘Slide and seek’ play centre in Hyde, this is run every 2nd of the month, 6.15 to 8pm also supported by volunteers and staff, in a private environment. Downs Syndrome Football

Location: Swinton 

The aim of the sessions will be to develop the groups into teams in the same fashion as all the other teams at Moorside Rangers, with regular training sessions and competitive game opportunities.

SPACE

Location: Preston 

One of the largest multi-sensory rooms in the UK.  It consists of one large, soft padded multi-sensory environment on two levels that are connected by stairs and a slide with specialised equipment.

The organisation also caters for over 18's with special needs.

New fun Tuesdays is exclusively for children and adults with additional needs, and their family, friends and carers.

Tameside Music Service

We are an inclusive service offering a range of musical instrumental and vocal opportunities for all ages from Baby Music sessions to working with the elderly. Our team are both experienced teachers as well as professional musicians who are passionate about music. We offer in school support for both primary and secondary schools, including SEND and other specialist schools and a wide range of community and bespoke groups.  Self Referral.
