This life sized bronze statue is a tribute to all of those men, women and children who worked in the textile industries of Lancashire and surrounding areas. The life-sized sculpture of a young woman dressed in the garb of a traditional Victoria mill girl, stands sorting a large basket of bobbins. Mossley was one of the region's textile powerhouses and the mill girls, who worked in them, formed the backbone of the industry.
