Allow your teen a patch of ground in the garden – find out together about plants that might grow well or vegetables that are easy to grow. You could go together to the Topaz Café Kitchen Garden if you don’t have anywhere to do this.

Do jobs together outside such as painting the fence, washing the car. Use these opportunities to have a chat with your teen about college, their friends and the future.

There are plenty of volunteering opportunities in Tameside which would give your teen work experience. Look through these and see if there is an opportunity that you can both do.
