Personal Education Plans (PEPs)
A Personal Education Plan (PEP) is a statutory document and a key part of a child’s care plan.
Every child in care must have a current, high-quality PEP.
The PEP:
- Identifies strengths, needs and barriers to learning
- Sets clear and measurable targets
- Brings together key adults supporting the child
- Is reviewed regularly to ensure progress
Pupil Premium Plus (PP+)
Pupil Premium Plus (PP+) is additional funding to improve the educational outcomes of children in care.
- The Virtual School is responsible for the allocation and use of this funding, working with schools to ensure it has the greatest impact
- Funding must be used for evidence-based approaches
- Spending should be clearly linked to the child’s educational needs and outcomes
- Impact must be measurable and reviewed
Examples of how PP+ may be used:
- Targeted academic support or tutoring
- Specialist resources to support learning
- Enrichment opportunities that enhance educational development
