What is a PEP?
A Personal Education Plan (PEP) is a meeting where people talk about how you are doing in school and how to help you do your best.
It helps to:
- Support your learning
- Set goals for the future
- Make sure you get the help you need
What is a Designated Teacher?
A Designated Teacher (DT) is a teacher in your school who helps support children in care. They make sure your school understands your needs and supports you.
Who comes to the meeting?
People at your PEP meeting might include:
- You
- Your carer
- Your social worker
- Your teacher or Designated Teacher (DT)
- Someone from the Virtual School
How can you be involved?
Your voice is really important. You can:
- Share what you enjoy about school
- Talk about what you find difficult
- Help set your own goals
- Say what support would help you
Why do we have meetings?
These meetings help the adults supporting you understand what you need so they can help you succeed.
They make sure:
- You feel safe and supported in school
- You are making progress
- You have the chance to achieve your goals
