Meet the board helping shape Hattersley's future and share your ideas

The people helping to shape the future of Hattersley are inviting residents to join the conversation.

The newly established Hattersley Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board is launching a programme of community events and a public survey, giving local people the chance to meet board members, share their views and help develop a long-term vision for the area.

Made up of representatives from across the community, business and the voluntary sector, the board has been formed to champion Hattersley and ensure local voices are at the heart of future plans and investment.

Over the coming weeks, residents will have opportunities to meet board members at a series of engagement events and learn more about the Pride in Place programme, which aims to build on Hattersley's strengths and identify priorities for future investment. Feedback gathered through the events and survey will help shape the board's work and future projects.

Pride in Place is part of a long-term programme designed to support communities in shaping their future. The initiative provides funding and support to help local people identify priorities for their area and develop projects that will make a positive difference for residents, businesses and visitors. The programme presents a significant opportunity for Hattersley to secure investment that reflects the ambitions of the local community.

The events programme will provide opportunities for people to speak directly with board members, ask questions and share their aspirations for the future of Hattersley.

As part of the programme, residents are also invited to the Hattersley Outdoor Cinema at Active Ken Ward, Hattersley Road East, SK14 3NL on Saturday 20 September. The free community event will open from 12.30pm and feature screenings of Monsters, Inc. and School of Rock. Food and refreshments will be available on site alongside a range of stalls, with local community groups and Hattersley FC also attending. There will also be children's activities throughout the day, including face painting, balloon modelling and glitter tattoos.

Residents can have their say by:

• attending one of the upcoming community engagement events
• meeting members of the board and sharing their ideas for the future
