Benefits
If you are working age and are living in rented accommodation whether that be with a Registered Social Landlord or a Private Landlord, then you need to apply for Universal Credit for assistance with your rent.
The Council no longer administer Housing Benefit claims for working age claimants.
Self Service
View Benefits
View your information for Benefits, Council Tax and Business Rates online with the self service system. You can view payments made towards Council Tax and Business Rates accounts, and if you are a landlord you can view information relating to your tenants.
If you wish to make payments to the council, use the Pay It link underneath.
Change of Circumstances
You can now update your details and inform us of any change to your benefits and income online.

Electoral Register
Notifying a change of address does not mean you are automatically on the Electoral Register. Click here to register to vote.
When Your Claim will be Dealt With
New claims and Change of Circumstances for Council Tax Support and Housing Benefit will be processed withing 20 working days of receipt where all the necessary information has been provided and you will be issued with a Benefits notification letter and Council Tax bill. Please avoid contacting the Benefits Service for updates until that time has passed.
