This historic market holds a special place in the hearts of the public and traders alike. Not only is the market a well loved venue amongst shoppers and visitors but the market’s listed building it is an iconic landmark in the town centre.
The outdoor market is open seven days a week, a feat that other markets simply cannot match, with a flea market on Tuesdays and a table top sale every Sunday except for the last Sunday in the month – when Ashton hosts the North West’s biggest and best ‘Farmers and Producers’ market with all items fresh and grown locally.
At the Farmers’ market you are able to try the products – delicious food the way it used to taste, you can even have free samples from some of the traders. The range of products on offer is mouth watering they include Venison, Beef, Pork, Black Puddings, Chutneys, Preserves, Vegetables, Home Baking, Roast Hog, Cheeses and Honey, the choice is simply fantastic.

Ashton Market triumphed over competitor markets as far afield as Somerset and Morpeth in Northumberland in this hotly contested National Market Traders Federation event.
