Stockport Road, Ashton
The council has successfully secured government funding to improve footways, crossings and cycle routes on Stockport Road in Ashton-under-Lyne, between Hamilton Street and Guide Lane. The planned works will provide more people with the opportunity to walk, wheel or cycle for short journeys. Active travel is essential to improving health and wellbeing, reducing emissions and tackling the cost of living crisis.The work is due to start on Monday 12 June 2023 and is due to be completed within 6 months.
