The Cenotaph

A pleasant quarter mile route from the visitor centre to the war memorial with stunning views in all directions.

Parking at the visitor centre, take the tarmac surfaced lane to the right of the building, passing a wooden gate and up to the left. The gradient is 1:7 for 200 metres. At the top of the tarmac lane go through the gate and continue uphill on the compacted stone path for 220 metres, with a maximum gradient of 1:8, to the cenotaph at the top. There are bench seats at regular intervals along the route.
