Financial Support to Childcare Providers

Nursery Education Grant

For children aged 3 and 4 years old. The Nursery Education Grant enables providers on the Tameside Nursery Education Directory of Providers to give children up to five 2½ hour sessions of nursery education per week for 38 weeks per year. The grant is paid directly to the provider.

Children's Centres and Extended Schools New Childcare Places Support Grant

This fund may be available for any provider wanting to create new childcare places (full day care, before school, after school, holiday care etc). It can pay for set up costs, equipment, toys, running costs etc. Apply by application form.

This is a fund that may be available for childcare providers who are facing short-term financial difficulties. Apply by application form.

Working Tax Credit

Many parents paying for childcare may be able to get up to 80% of the costs back through the childcare element of the Working Tax Credit. This can be a substantial subsidy and it can help you to sustain your business.

The team offer professional development, support and advice to potential and current childcare providers and a mentoring service for Quality Assurance schemes. A wide range of short childcare training courses is available to all registered providers, parents and carers.
