Ashton Farmers and Producers Market

Our field to fork Farmers’ and Producers Market is held on the last Sunday of the month between 9am – 1pm in the Market Square.

With a great range of stalls, we have new traders coming to the market on a regular basis.

You will find a quality range of local farmers’ traders selling the very best produce, including local meats and cheeses, pies, cakes, chutneys and veg
The usual giant Sunday table top sale market takes place on the other side of the market ground so look out for collectables or just a plain old fashioned bargain.

Redevelopment of Ashton Market Square 

The Farmers Market will continue to be held while work is ongoing on the redevelopment of Ashton Market Square. The Levelling Up project will see the square transformed into a modern, flexible civic space for markets, events and other activities. 

The focal point will be a large canopy covering kiosks, the outdoor market, and flexible which will include seating and a welcoming events space for events and activities including specialist markets such as the monthly Farmers Market. 

The Market Square will be rejuvenated with high quality public realm, tree planting, new seating, spaces for families and lighting that will encourage activities in the evening and for events. 

Work is due to begin in June and should be complete within 15 months. During the construction phase the Farmers Market will move location and be accommodated on Fletcher Square or in pockets around The Market Hall and Tameside One.
