Tameside Whit Friday Brass Band Contest
Further Information
Tameside Overall Contest
Entry for the “Tameside Overall” element of the Whit Friday Brass Band Contest is automatic for all bands that compete at 6 or more of the Tameside contests.
Tameside Overall Local Prizes
What constitutes a local band differs at each contest, however the Tameside Local Prizes can only be allocated to a band which resides (have a band room or primary practise space) within 6 miles radius of Ashton Town Hall Steps (53°29'23.0"N 2°05'36.0"W) . This was ratified by The Friends of Tameside Whit Friday Brass Band Contest Committee in 2013 and again in 2018.
1 Prize Rule
Bands can only win a single “Overall” prize.
In the event a band places first in 2 separate categories (for example 1st section and local) they will receive the highest value monetary prize. The lower value prize will go to the next highest scoring band in the relevant category.
Date of next year’s contest:
- 13th June 2025
