Average Days Sickness Absence

The Council is committed to managing the attendance levels of its workforce and ensuring support is available to enable individuals to manage their health and wellbeing wherever possible. 

In 2001 the Council’s average number of working days lost per employee per year due to sickness absence stood at 13.2 days. The Council is one of the most successful metropolitan authorities in relation to absence management. It consistently remains one of the best performing authorities across Greater Manchester and has often been cited as best practice nationally in the management of employee attendance and health and wellbeing.
