Privacy Notice for 13 – 18 Year Olds


So we can make sure that the right help is offered, and the support and decisions can be made about the education, care and other services you receive are right for you we will need to collect, store, use and share information that is personal to you.  This may include information like your;
 
  • Name
  • Address
  • Telephone number
  • Email address
  • Parents name and contact details
  • Information about your family and home life
  • School and the classes/courses you are on
  • Health and medical information
  • Any problems you might be having at school, at home or online
  • Information about your social media accounts and friendships
  • Information about your friends and people you have relationships with


To make sure the right people are there to help and support you we might need to share your information with;
 
  • Other council services;
  • School;
  • Other professionals who can help you with health, medical, education or anything else you may need support with;
  • Police;
  • Other Council’s


We will only ever share your information if;
 
  • We have your permission
  • The law says we have to so that we can protect you


The law says children and young people are minors until you turn 18 which will mean that a lot of the time consent needs to be obtained from your parent or guardian around the support and services you receive but for young people aged between 13 and 18 you can make decisions on what we do with your information where we need your permission.  If you are still under 13 years old we will still need to make sure you have the support and permission of a parent or guardian though.
