Do you or your colleagues need to learn more about Food Safety?

If so then this is the course for you! It covers a range of topics to give you a sound, basic knowledge of food safety and leads to a nationally recognised qualification
 

Why should I attend a Food Hygiene Course?

It is very important that anyone who is working with or around food has a good understanding and knowledge of food safety. If you have an employee working for you who is not sufficiently trained, it could result in unsafe food and potentially food poisoning; bad for your business and reputation. The law requires that you and your employees must be suitably trained in food safety to be able to work with food. This is a nationally recognised level 2 qualification.

The course is run by enthusiastic and experienced members of the Tameside Council's Business Compliance Team. It will include a variety of presentations using lots of materials including videos. There will be a short examination at the end of the day which you will be fully prepared for.
 

What will I learn?

You can expect to learn about topics in these seven main areas:

• Personal Hygiene
• Premises equipment and pest control
• Food poisoning
• Prevention of food poisoning and food contamination
• Cleaning and disinfection
• Bacteriology
• Legislation

What qualification will I achieve?

If you pass the course you will have achieved a good understanding of food safety and be desirable to the food industry. The qualification is nationally recognised, Level 2 Award: Highfield Food Safety in Catering (RQF)
