What is Pride in Place?

Community-led - Local people help shape decisions.
Long-term investment - £20 million over 10 years.
Local priorities - Funding focused on what matters most to Hattersley.

Pride in Place is a UK Government-funded programme that will build on more than 20 years of regeneration in Hattersley, putting local people at the heart of decision-making.

What Pride in Place means

  • Listening to local voices
  • Improving places people care about
  • Strengthening community pride
  • Supporting long‑term, locally‑led change

At the heart of Pride in Place programme is a local board, made up of residents and people with strong connections to Hattersley. The Board will help guide priorities, shape plans, and represent the community.

How it works
How it works

Community priorities
Through community conversations, surveys and discussions with residents and organisations, a number of priorities have already begun to emerge.

These include:

  • safer communities
  • better roads, streets and parking
  • access to health and care services
  • Parks, play areas and green spaces
  • opportunities for young people
  • stronger community connections through events, activities and local facilities
  • talking up Hattersley and showing civic pride

These priorities are not yet fixed. As Pride in Place develops, the Board will continue to listen to residents and work with the community to refine priorities and identify opportunities for investment over the next ten years.

If you would like to highlight a different priority, please get in touch.
